Features of the Programme:
This Programme is formulated mainly for other branch of engineering candidates to obtain expertise in Ship building, Repairing of old ships and Conversion of one type of ship to another so that on completion of the degree, the candidates are eligible to occupy Engineer/managerial positions in various Government and private Shipyards, Boatyards, Classification Societies, Ship building and repairing contract companies within India and abroad. Great opportunities exist in repairing of old ships to new one to extend the life and also conversion of one type of vessel into another to meet the urgent requirements in shipping trade.
Programme Duration
One year or 2 semesters
Qualification
Those who have completed BE/BTech in Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Aero Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ship Building, Offshore/ Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or its equivalent from recognized University are eligible.
Gender
Both Male and Female candidates are eligible to apply
Physical fitness
Candidates must undergo Medical Test for Physical Fitness
