This course (as per STCW 2010 amendments) seeks to impart skill-based training about the Electrical System on board ships. Successful candidates will be given DGS approved Course Completion Certificate, INDOSS and Indian CDC.
Duration: 17 Weeks Residential
Eligibility: (As per DGS Norms)
i) Candidates must have completed a four-year BE/B-Tech degree, including lateral entry, with a minimum of 50% marks in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication/Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation, or an equivalent discipline.
ii) Additionally, candidates are required to have achieved at least 50% marks in English in either the 10th or 12th standard examinations. If a candidate does not meet the 50% requirement in English for the 10th or 12th standard, they may still be eligible if they obtain 50% in their degree examination and the medium of instruction for the degree was English.
Note: 1. Candidates must have completed their 10th and 12th standard education from a recognized board.
2. The degree programs must be accredited by a State or Central Government or the AICTE.
iii) Passport is mandatory.
Sanctioned Strength: 80 Per Batch
Mode of Selection: Entrance Examination, Personal Interview and Medical
Age & Medical fitness: Not more than 35 years on date of commencement of training and medically fit including eyesight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000 as amended.
Note: 1. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) Category shall be relaxed by 5 years.
2. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Non–creamy layer of Other Backward Classes (OBC) Category shall be relaxed by 3 Years.
3. The maximum age limit for women candidates of each Category shall be relaxed by additional 2 Years.
