The food processing sector is currently undergoing a metamorphosis from the concept of “Make and Sell” to “Sense and Produce”. The food market has become more customer orientated and niche – based rather than mere lucrativeness. Taking these aspects into consideration the programme of Food Processing Technology was established in 2016 with an aim to produce professionals who have a strong base in development and quality testing of food. This Department offers Four Year Regular B. Tech., programme in Food Processing Technology and three-Year Regular B.Sc., in Food Processing Technology and Management System with the specialization in the fundamental principles of food processing such as food science and chemistry, unit operations, food analysis, modern processing and preservation techniques, principles of management and marketing. The course also gives ample opportunities to apply these principles in the relevant sector through internships and project work.
