AMET Deemed to be University celebrates the legacy of Visionary Freedom Fighter and Maritime Pioneer V.O.Chidambaranar's 153rd Birth Anniversary during the year 2025.

Faculty of Maritime Studies, AMET Deemed to be University celebrates V.O.Chidambaranar's 153rd Birth Anniversary by conducting VOC Endowment Lecture, a National Conference, and a Mega Science Exhibition.

The VOC Endowment Lecture will be held on 24th April 2025 at Shri Janakiraman Auditorium, AMET campus. Mr.C.V.Chidambaram, Grandson of V.O.Chidambaranar is the Chief Guest of this event.

The National Conference on Entrepreneurship and Sustainability for the Future Shipping (NCESFS) - 2025 will be conducted on 21st and 22nd August 2025 at Shri Janakiraman Auditorium, AMET campus.

The Faculty of Maritime Studies and Centre for Outreach Programs organize Mega Science Exhibition which will be conducted from July 2025 to November 2025. School students who study +1 and +2 are eligible to participate in the Mega Science Exhibition and various competitions which will be held at seven zones in Tamil Nadu. Best display of the Exhibition and best performers of various competitions will be selected from each zone and they can participate in the finals which will be conducted on 11th November 2025 at AMET Campus, Chennai. The overall winners and winners of each zone will be awarded.

All the above events will be conducted in association with Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, Indian Council of Philosophical Research, Govt. of India, Indian Council of Social Science Research, Govt. of India, Indian Council of Historical Research, Govt. of India, and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
