AMET is establishing a new multidisciplinary Institution in 2023 named AMET Institute of Science and Technology (AIST) in 150 acres of land at Thenpattinam, Chengalpattu District which is in the National Highways of Chennai and Pondicherry. The Centre of Excellence of Maersk and other globally renowned shipping companies like V-Ships, Synergy etc. are going to have their recruited cadets of AMET for various Maritime Programmes and Training at AIST. The candidates who get selected by Synergy through the Cadetship Sponsor program for the Diploma in Nautical Sciences (DNS) August 2023 recruitment drive will study at AMET Institute of Science &Technology - Thenpattinam Campus.

Association of AMET & Synergy Group

Synergy Group has signed a MoU with AMET in February 2023, wherein AMET and Synergy Group agreed to collaborate in the areas of Maritime Education, Training and Placement of cadets, wherein Synergy Group agreed to recruit 80 Deck Cadet (DNS Sponsored program) from AMET Institute of Science & Technology - Thenpattinam.

Procedures to be enrolled for Admission and Recruitment drive

• 1. All candidates must duly fill AMET, Synergy & IMU Application form.
• 2. Candidates who have submitted applications to AMET, Synergy & IMU will only be considered for the Admission and Recruitment Drive.
• 3. Ensure the same email id is mentioned in AMET and Synergy Application form.

Eligibility Criteria

• Should have born on or before 01 Jan 2006 and After 01 Jan 1999
• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII or Equivalent
• Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII or Equivalent
• Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class X or XII or Equivalent
• Should have passed Class XII OR Equivalent OR Should be appearing in class XII exam in year 2023

Examination Syllabus

The Examination will be conducted online at registered test center.

• The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The Examination will comprise of 200 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based questions (CBSE /ICSE syllabus ) and 100 English and aptitude-based questions.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer. No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.

Duration of Test - 180 minutes

Section A – Knowledge
100 MCQ (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from XII CBSE/ ICSE syllabus)

Section B - English and Aptitude
100 MCQ (Numerical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Verbal Reasoning, Nonverbal reasoning -Spatial & Abstract Reasoning and English)

Note:

• 1. Sponsorship is only for placement of Candidates and DOES NOT INCLUDE FEES for the Candidate. It is mandatory for candidates to clear IMUCET exam to be eligible for interview and selection.
• 2. Kindly note that the selection procedure involves the candidates clearing the Entrance Examination, Medicals, interview & Psychometrics and Document Verification.
• 3. Applications are open for both Male & Female candidates.
