AMET has established the Centre for Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) to improve the standard of Non Destructive Evaluation by raising its quality and in turn to achieve the breakthrough in diverse Non Destructive Evaluation Engineering and measurement techniques and also to formulate interpretive models for more reproducibility, reliability and life extension of materials and structures. Step taken by R&D division in this direction is to promote quality research at AMET.
Center for Non Destructive Evaluation is one of the activities of the R&D division of AMET: Non Destructive Evaluation dealing with the strength of materials and structures is an essential survey required for maintaining the service life of material structures. The in-situ Non Destructive Evaluation techniques provide information at any stage of its services on the state of condition of materials and structure thus ensuring both preventive and corrective maintenance.
Non Destructive Evaluations is an Inter-disciplinary field of study which is concerned with the development of analysis techniques and measurement technologies for the quantitative characterization of materials and structures. Ultrasonic Flaw Detection, Liquid Penetrant Test and Magnetic Particle Inspection are some of the few techniques presently used by the NDE Centre.
